297TH AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SQUADRON

The 297th Air Traffic Control Squadron operates out of Kalealoa. Located in Kapolei, Hawaii, the mission of the 297th Air Traffic Control Squadron. 

Coast Guard’s 14th District, an AOR that covers over 12.2 M square miles including the Hawaiian Islands, and the South Pacific. Today, more than 1,150 active duty, 150 reserve, 80 civilian, and 400 Auxiliary men and women make up the 14th District, which boasts the Coast Guard’s largest area of responsibility. The district covers units on Oahu, Maui, Kauai, the Big Island, and in American Samoa, Saipan, Guam, Singapore and Japan.

Area Housing Authority (AHA)

The AHA is responsible for the overall Coast Guard's housing program throughout the Fourteenth District Area of Responsibility (AOR). Commanding Officer, Base Honolulu is the designated AHA for all CG housing, owned and leased.

Members assigned to Air Station Barbers Point and Coast Guard Communications Station (COMMSTA) Honolulu are considered part of the North Division Area and may be offered quarters at Schofield Barracks, Helemano Military Reservations, Wheeler Army Air Field, Mendonca Park.

Members assigned to Oahu (Honolulu) will be considered part of the South Division Area and may be offered quarters located at AMR, Ft. Shafter, or Tripler Army Medical Center. Please visit Island Palm Communities (IPC) for rental information or visit the Schofield Housing page.

Members who accept privatized housing from IPC are eligible for loaner furniture from Army Hawaii Family Housing. Additionally, IPC residents who PCS in or out may seek Basic Hospitality Kits from the Hickam Loan Closet at 808-449-0301.

If you are stationed at Barbers point then these rentals below are within the commuting area.

  • Kapilina Beach Homes is located in Iriquois Point, Ewa Beach, West Oahu about 10 min away. It’s a Navy housing beach community with gated access and many amenities on site. It’s located in the southern most point of Ewa at Iriquois Point and can be heavy traffic heading up Fort Weaver road to the H1 Freeway.   • Kalaeloa Rental Homes is located in Kapolei, West Oahu about 5 min drive. It’s in a central location about 5 min from Ewa/Kapolei Kamakana Ali’i mall with all the shops and restaurants. Barbers Point base is just down the road about 5 min drive.

  • The Villas at Royal Kunia are located in Waipahu about 15 min drive.

  • Ewa Beach (Off post rental)

If you are stationed at COMMSTA Honolulu then below government housing areas are within the commuting area.

  • CG housing area in Honolulu has been privatized. Kia’i Kai Hale (KKH) is located in the Red Hill area of Honolulu and is next to AMR.

  • Aliamanu Military Reservation (AMR) Housing Hawaii is managed by Island palm communities and is centrally located in Salt Lake 5 min from Honolulu. There’s a gas station, shoppette, CDC, community center and pool in the neighborhood. It is 10-12 min to downtown Waikiki and less than 10 min to JBPHH. Here’s a video of an AMR 5 bedroom home.

Most Coast Guard units ship HHG under the DoD sponsored Personal Property System (DPS). Contact your transportation Office for scheduling HHG’s inbound and outbound shipment. Base Honolulu housing office uses the DPS Program and functions as a satellite operation of the Joint Personal Property Shipping Office (JPPSO) at Pearl Harbor.
