July 2022, mask policies are mainly dropped at all DoD facilities.

Jun 20, 2022 COVID transmission rate for Honolulu , Kawaii, Maui and Hawaii county is HIGH. So many DoD buildings have reinstated their mask policy.

May 1, 2022. Transmission rate in Honolulu county has risen to Medium. Some bases have implemented wearing masks when you can’t socially distance. Contact your local command for current guidance.

Mar 25, 2022. The Hawaii state COVID19 Safe Travels program for showing Vaccine or 48 hour COVID test status to enter Hawaii state will end at midnight. Also wearing masks indoors will end as well.

Mar 5, 2022 The Hawaii state COVID19 rules for showing Vaccine status at restaurants for dining in and limit to # at table will end at midnight.

Mar 3, 2022. US ARMY GARRISON has deleted the indoor mask policy on all Hawaii Army bases except the CDC, Hale Koa and medical facilities. JBPHH mask wear is optional on base and its affiliated federal properties/annexes, except for the CDCs, School Age Care (SAC) Facilities, and designated Medical Facilities.

Dec 2021. Hawaii state has mandated back to 10 person gatherings indoors. Masks are still mandatory while indoors. Commands are starting to slowly follow CDC guidance on reducing quarantine status from 10 days to 5. Check with your local service command for updates.

Sep 13, 2021. Oahu requires you to present proof of vaccination or a 48 hour negative COVID-19 test before entering, restaurants and bars, entertainment and recreational settings, or indoor gym and fitness facilities and group physical activity classes. The safe access Oahu program info is on the Mayor’s website

These mandates must be met to visit the USS Battleship Missouri Memorial, Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum and Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum on Ford Island.

HAWAII TRAVEL UPDATE

Starting July 8, 2021, ALL travelers to Hawaii from the U.S. and U.S. Territories, who are vaccinated can upload their vaccination card to the Hawaii Safe Travels to bypass the 72 hour COVID travel test. On July 8th, Hawaii state is predicted to meet 60% vaccinated and at 70% the state will be fully open. At 60% the state gatherings can increase from 25 to 75 persons. Masks are not required while outdoors, only when entering in stores, restaurants, grocery stores, etc.

Starting Jun 15, 2021, All Domestic Travelers entering the state can travel to other island without taking a 72 hour COVID test.

June 1, 2021. Masks are no longer required outdoors.

If you cannot provide negative 72 Hour COVID test results before boarding your final leg to HNL you will quarantine upon arrival. Dependents on DoD orders fall under their sponsor’s ROM local command rules.

Telework guidelines for DoD members using GFE equipment. ZOOM is off limits for official business and DoD equipment, however personal devices are ok. Here is the DoD approved list for telework video conferencing.

COVID19 Update for PET owners
If you are PCSing here right now and are bringing a pet, here is the email and number to call. It’s possible if your pet is not traveling in main cabin with you or arrives after Department of Agriculture is closed, that they may have to be picked up the next day. Contact the Animal department of health for more guidance during COVID. Please visit my PCS pets page for more info on picking up your pet at HNL.

DMV guidance during COVID19. Most DMV (Satellite) offices are open by appointment only and there are several kiosks for renewal only across Oahu in select Safeway and Foodland stores. At the kiosk you can pay and print a whole new registration card. See the full list of locations here.

JBPHH MILITARY HOUSING OFFICE (MHO) & HOUSING SERVICE CENTER:
Remain closed for in-person customers. For assistance by phone for Housing Referrals services, arrival/departure Temporary Lodging Allowance (TLA) counseling, please call 808-448-0856 (MHO) or 808-474-1820/1821 (HSC) between 0700-1600, Mon-Fri.

BASE ACCOMMODATIONS:
- Normal hours of operations at Unaccompanied Housing/Navy Gateway Inn and Suites.
- REMINDER: All Navy Lodge patrons (over the age of 2) are required to wear a protective mask.
- No Space-A reservations at NGIS.
