Hawaii is reopening for Travelers!

Starting October 15, 2020, the state of Hawaii is implementing the Pre-travel testing program that can waive the mandatory 14 day quarantine. It requires travelers arriving to Hawaii from out-of-state, to present negative COVID-19 test results within 72 hours of their arrival. There are different COVID tests available but travelers must make sure they receive the right COVID test that will meet the state mandate.

Top things to do in Kauai


I’ve been to Kauai many times and wanted to share what were the top things you can do on the island. I talk about Kauai’s Northshore and Princeville, then hit up Kapa’a and Lihue. I then head South to Poi’pu and then West to Waimea and Hanapepe. Lots of great info on the most photographic places. Mahalo for reading!

What Hotels are open in Waikiki and Oahu?

Aloha! Are you PCSing or moving here and looking for a Hotel to stay at that is an approved TLA accommodation off base that is open right now? Of the 66 TLA approved hotels I spoke with only about 30 are open. I list the status of the other 36 hotels and when they are projected to be reopening. Dim Sum, is a Cantonese dish, originally from the Guandong, Hong Kong region of China. About 70% of all Chinese in Hawaii are from this region of China and with them they brought the wonderful little traditional dumplings and small tasty dishes of dim sum.
